Some news from the Netherlands. My friend Otto de vries spent two hours yesterday trying to read a BTO metal ring on a Snow Bunting near the costal area of the IJssel-lake in the Wieringermeerpolder. He successfully managed to get the full code - TP780725.

Thanks to Otto for these photos.
nice Tawny
ReplyDeleteThat man, OdV, has got mega patience!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly has Errol!
ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without people like Otto!?
Hope you're well...
While TP is a valid prefix for a B ring there is a problem with the number being 1 digit too long. With under 300 ringed per year and TP being a relatively new series there is a very good chance of it being traced assuming the last 2 or 3 digits are correct.
ReplyDeleteohh well spotted Richard. I'll check back on the e-mail when I'm in work - incase I've made a type error. If not I'll get back in touch with Otto. Thanks. Kane
